Short musing on the plane
Had this quick conversation with a Japanese sitting beside me.Jap X: where you from?
Me, smiling wearily: Singapore
Jap X: ohh.. I know.. Meron right?
Me, (???): Pardon?
Jap X: Meron.. Mer .. Ron (gesturing a "regurgitation_from_my_mouth" hand signal)
Me: Oh... Merlion. Yeah! very famous landmark (wanted to tell him that it's a failed bioscience project attempted to cross breed a lion and a mytical creature like The Mermaid.)
Remind me pls that I shall propose a Singapore Animated series, collaboration with Walt Disney, titled How Singapore got her Merlion. Featuring Lion King shagging the little Mermaid.
Shall discuss an old issue of Nation Pride. Japanese take pride in their products, anything made in Japan.
Just as I wanted to take a snap shot of the airplane food, this Japanese jumped in joy and pointed at my camera: yeah, made in Japan!
I was like "oh no, not again"
